About Us
Welcome to our family run café in the historical village of Birchington-on-Sea.
Some of you may remember us from when we owned The Mad Hatter Tea Rooms in Margate Old Town. Ironically enough, when we moved to Thanet in 2017 our plan was to actually buy Strawberry Fields, but at that point in time it was not meant to be. Five years later, however, and here we are, having come full circle.
The building is steeped in history, having mainly been a public house for many years and then a café / coffee shop in the more recent times.
We have chosen to rename the business 'Fields Café' in recognition of not only a new chapter in our family’s story, but also a new chapter for this historical building in Birchington-on-Sea. Our aim is to create a Café that is warm and inviting for all. We offer quality, homemade dishes to suit all appetites - sourcing our produce locally as much as we can.
